Book Launch with Tania Kaczynski – 18th of April at Highgate Library
“Be not inhospitable to strangers, lest they be angles in disguise”
Walt Whitman.
Tania Kaczynski, ex director and co-founder of New Art Studio, will be talking about her book, “Who am I? The story of a London art studio for asylum seekers and refugees”. She will be discussing the vital role that art plays in recovery from forced migration. Her book looks at the origins of New Art Studio and the approaches of individual members to art-making, as well as how being at the studio forges a link to society for those who live in the shadows.
Please come and join in this lively debate. There will be a Q and A, as well as a short talk. There will also be a small display of artwork from the members of New Art Studio and a chance to buy a copy of Who Am I? All sales will be donated to New Art Studio.
